- Form: Broad pyramidal with slightly drooping branch tips
- Height: Approximately 40–70 ft
- Width: Approximately 20–30 ft
- Growth Rate: Slow to moderate
- Foliage: Soft, flat, dark green needles with lighter undersides
- Bark: Gray-brown, becoming deeply furrowed with age
- Sun: Partial shade to full sun; prefers protection from hot afternoon sun
- Soil: Moist, well-drained, organically rich soil
- Hardiness: Generally Zone 3–7
- Maintenance: Low once established
Landscape Use: Ideal for privacy screens, naturalistic plantings, woodland gardens, shaded areas, and large property borders. Its dense foliage provides excellent year-round screening, while its soft texture gives the landscape a more natural and elegant appearance.
