Black Cedar is a classic evergreen selection of Eastern White Cedar, valued for its dense, dark green foliage and strong upright growth. It maintains its rich green color well through winter, making it an excellent choice for privacy screens, hedges, and year-round landscape structure.

- Mature Height: Approximately 20–30 ft
- Mature Width: Approximately 8–12 ft
- Hardiness Zone: 3–7
- Sun: Full sun to partial shade
- Growth Habit: Dense, upright, pyramidal
- Foliage: Dark green, scale-like foliage
- Uses: Privacy screens, hedges, property borders, windbreaks, specimen planting
Why Choose Black Cedar?
Its deep green foliage, dense branching, and reliable winter color make it a great alternative to lighter-colored cedar varieties. It responds well to pruning, allowing it to be maintained as a formal hedge, while its natural pyramidal shape also looks attractive when left untrimmed.
