'Umegae' is an oldie, but a goodie! 'Umegae' dates back in Japanese literature to as far as 1882. The large dark mahogany colored leaves show up well on green petioles. 'Umegae' forms a moderately sized tree reaching 15 ft in height in 20 years. Fall color on 'Umegae' is a bright oranges and crimson reds.
